USA Customs Charges and Tariffs
From 29th August 2025 US Customs requirements changed to require the seller to pay all duties and taxes on orders sent to the USA. Also, the $800 order value exemption will be removed which affects all USA orders. Thus, Micron is required to calculate and pay these charges to US Customs.
If the charges are not paid by the time a package reaches US Customs, the package is likely to be returned or destroyed. We use Royal Mail for the majority of shipments to USA and they provide a Postal Delivery Duty Paid service which collects the tarrif, plus a small fee (£0.50), and pays this to US Customs on our behalf.
The simple shopping cart system used at Micron cannot handle per-country pricing, nor support tarrif calculation at the time of placing an order online. Our solution is to acknowledge each order from a USA customer and present a calculation of the additional charges that must be paid. At that time, you can choose to pay the charges or cancel your order. If you prefer to know the exact cost before placing an order, please send a list of what you need and we will send an invoice to include the charges.
The current tarrif on all Micron products is 10%. Prices shown in the Micron web site include 20% UK VAT which is deducted for orders delivered outside UK. To illustrate the calculation using a Tx20v2 as example:
